This experience generally consists of a 12 to 18month rotation in which the Planner is exposed to significant, multifunctional commercialprojects in the Food Ingredients, Pharmaceutical and Personal Care businesses.Successful planners generally have a technical background with commercial experiencein the areas of sales, marketing, business development or strategy. Uponcompletion of the rotation, the Planner usually transitions into a commercial role basedon their strengths, interests and the current needs of the business. This rotation is thefirst step towards general management within <strong>FMC</strong> <strong>BioPolymer</strong>.Manufacturing DevelopmentThrough this structured development program, individuals will gain valuableexperience and exposure in the following areas:• Supply Chain• In-depth manufacturing process understanding• Exposure to the commercial side of the business• Supervising direct reports• Understanding of the financial drivers of thebusiness


Structured rotations will be offered for the individual’s first 3 to 5 years. Each isgenerally 18 to 24 months in duration and will offer exposure to several manufacturinglocations. Successful individuals generally have a background in Process orChemical Engineering with a demonstrated ability to lead others and think analytically.Geographic mobility is also essential. At the completion of the rotation, theindividual will be ready to assume a manufacturing position within the business.Supply ChainThrough this program, individuals will gain valuable experience and exposure in thefollowing areas:• Demand planning and forecasting management• Logistics and distribution• Warehousing costs and inventory levels• Product allocation• Exposure to the commercial side of the businessSuccessful individuals should be able to recommend and drive state-of-the-art supplychain practices across the organization. The ability to understand and interpretcomplex data is also a key part of this position. This rotation is generally 12 to 24months in duration at which point the individual will be ready to assume a supplychain position within the business.MBA Financial AnalystThe Financial Analyst position allows recent MBA graduates with a financebackground to gain a variety of experiences within <strong>FMC</strong> <strong>BioPolymer</strong>’s financeorganization. This position offers exposure to significant projects in the FoodIngredients, Pharmaceutical and Personal Care businesses.Major areas of responsibility could include:• Provide analysis and explanation of business financial results• Prepare financial presentations for Division and Corporate reviews• Facilitate budget process in close coordination with the Business Analystsand Finance Manager• Develop long range planning models for the business• Partner with marketing and sales organizations to provide both financialand strategic assistanceThe ability to understand and interpret complex financial data is a key part ofthis position. Demonstrated success in this role would then lead to higher-levelpositions within the Finance organization.Rebecca GoldenDisintegrants, Coatings and Hydrocolloids Product Manager“I joined <strong>FMC</strong> <strong>BioPolymer</strong> as an Inside Technical Sales Representative in 2000after graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry. This position gave me the opportunityto apply my technical knowledge to a business situation. Over thenext few years, my responsibility within sales increased and Icompleted my MBA through an Executive program at the FuquaSchool of Business at Duke University. I am currently a ProductManager for our Coatings product line. The product managerposition touches all functions in the organization. I performmarket analysis to determine the need for a given product andwork closely with Research and Development to define theproduct and technical package. I partner with sales and manufacturing to get theproduct to the customer in a timely and cost-effective manner and am accountable todeliver the P&L for my business.My favorite part of working at <strong>FMC</strong> <strong>BioPolymer</strong> is using my technical background tounderstand business opportunities. Each of my positions have been both scientificallyrigorous and customer and market focused.”


Eric BeattyGlobal Marketing Director“After graduating from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management, Ijoined <strong>FMC</strong> as a Business Planner in 1996 in <strong>FMC</strong>’s Industrial Chemicals Group. In1998, I joined <strong>FMC</strong> <strong>BioPolymer</strong> as a Segment Manager in theFood Ingredients Business where I focused on identifying growthopportunities and new applications in the North Americanpackaged foods segment.Over the past seven years, I have held a number of productmanagement roles both in the Food Ingredients andPharmaceutical businesses. Most recently I was the EuropeanSales Director for Pharmaceuticals, based in Brussels, Belgium. Currently as the GlobalMarketing Director for <strong>FMC</strong> <strong>BioPolymer</strong>’s Food Ingredient Business, I oversee worldwideproduct management, commercial development and marketing communications.As a member of the Food Ingredients Management Team, the work I do directly helpsto shape the direction and strategic priorities of the business.”Alden GibsonBusiness Analyst“I joined <strong>FMC</strong> <strong>BioPolymer</strong> in June 2004 as a Financial Analyst after receiving my MBAfrom Carnegie Mellon University. I made the decision to join <strong>FMC</strong>because I felt the company would give me the opportunity tocapitalize on my finance experience and business knowledge inorder to make an impact at <strong>FMC</strong>.In my initial role as Financial Analyst, I was responsible forproviding analysis of business financial results as well ascoordinating the foreign exchange currency hedges and annualbudget process. I also provided key analytical support in our divisional Long RangePlanning exercise and performed strategic analysis and evaluation on several growthinitiatives.I was recently promoted to Business Analyst for the Excipient and Food/Personal CareCommercial organizations in which I provide key financial support to the Excipientand Food Businesses and identify financial trends in order to help drive profitablestrategies.What I have enjoyed most about my time at <strong>FMC</strong> has been working with extremelyfinancial savvy people who can quickly evaluate financial information and makesound business decisions.”Christophe MassipBinders Product Manager“I joined <strong>FMC</strong> in 1993 doing market research in France in preparation for a newproduct launch. In 1994, I joined the Sales group as a regional TechnicalRepresentative in the Food Ingredients Division. I was then promoted to Meat SegmentManager and relocated to Brussels, Belgium.In 2001, the Meat Ingredients Business Unit was formed and I waspromoted to Marketing Manager for Europe. At this time, I tookover all global marketing responsibilities for the ConvenienceFoods segment. In 2003, I accepted the position of BindersProduct Manager for the Pharmaceutical business and relocatedto Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.What I enjoy most about my current position is the opportunity I have to play a key rolein both managing the current P&L for the business and positioning the company for thefuture. The work I do today is helping to improve the company’s competitive positionfor the future, while also working to increase innovation and market growth.”


Kieran O’DwyerOperations Manager“After graduating from the Cork Institute of Technology with a degree in ChemicalEngineering, I joined <strong>FMC</strong> in 1990 as a Process Engineer at ourCork, Ireland manufacturing site. In 1995, I relocated toRockland, Maine where I was promoted to a Senior ProcessEngineer. During my tenure in Rockland, I also held positions as aProduction Analyst and Quality Control Supervisor, ProductionManager and Plant Manager. I then had the opportunity torelocate for an international assignment in Drammen, Norway.From 2001 to 2004 I was the Plant Manager at our Drammen,Norway manufacturing site where I was responsible for the safe and cost-effectiveproduction of our product lines.Eventually, I repatriated back to the U.S. where I was given the challenge of startingup a new Distribution Center for the Division. In my current role as OperationsManager at our Newark, Delaware manufacturing location I am responsible for theoverall production and shipment of our pharmaceutical products.”Susan ChiuBusiness Analyst“My experience with <strong>FMC</strong> <strong>BioPolymer</strong> has been phenomenal.
