Interest them in joining a Diversity Resource Group.Our company values diversity and offers Cast Members many opportunities to makeconnections with others and have a voice in the way we conduct business. Diversity ResourceGroups usually meet monthly and are open to all Cast Members.11. Advise them to stay updated.We send weekly e-mails to all program participants that feature information of interest to them,such as College Program events, Cast discounts and ideas for low-cost ways to spend days off.Your family member will not want to miss one opportunity – so tell them to keep their eyes andears open!Frequently Asked Questionsfor Family & FriendsHow will my family member know where the nearest medicalfacilities are?Each participant receives a Program Guide and it contains a wealth of information, including listsof the nearest hospitals and urgent care facilities.My family member will have a car. What will he/she need to get avehicle decal?To park the vehicle at our housing property, participants must complete a Parking Agreementprovided by us prior to their arrival and required by the City of Anaheim upon arrival. Oncecomplete, all participants will receive a vehicle decal and assigned parking space.Will my family member have any vacation time?Your child has agreed to “full availability” during his/her program. Participants will work anaverage of 28-32 hours each week, but may be scheduled additional hours during peak attendanceperiods in our operation. Participants usually get two days off each week; however, they may notbe consecutive, and they typically work weekends and holidays. Your child may be able to ask forspecific days off without pay or switch shifts with a co-worker to accommodate the request for timeoff. We recommend that all Cast Members maintain an excellent record at work – no calling in, notardiness, etc.What learning resources are available?There are two collegiate courses currently offered at the Disneyland ® Resort and each has beenrecommended for academic credit by the American Council on Education. We also offer seminarcourses designed to give students an overview of Line of Business at the Disneyland Resort aswell as networking opportunities with Disney leaders. In addition, there are many other learningopportunities available to all students including Academic Field Experiences, the College ProgramAlumni Speaker Series, and various online/self-paced offerings and other personal and professionalresources available through the Disney University Libraries. What kind of discounts do Cast Members receive?Once participants attend Disney Traditions and obtain their Cast Member ID, they will enjoy freeadmission to our Disneyland ® Resort theme parks. They also receive a Cast Member Main EntrancePass that allows them to admit three Guests into the park on sixteen different occasions duringthe year. Based on availability, Cast Members may receive up to 40 percent off Disney resortaccommodations for family and friends. They also receive merchandise and dining discounts at mostDisneyland shops and restaurants. Certain area businesses offer discounts on products and serviceswhen Cast Members show their Cast Member ID.How can I get transportation to the airport?There are several shuttle services in the area that provide transportation to local airports.Directions to nearby airports:John Wayne Airport – Santa Ana, CA1. Continue onto World Way, LAX will be on the rightHow are participants placed into apartments?Roommates are selected based on a number of factors, including arrival and departure dates, worklocation, gender, whether they are under or over 21 years of age, and program season. Disney CollegeProgram participants may have also had the opportunity to sign up for a roommate matching processin which they were matched to another participant prior to arrival. Once matched, the participantsreceived the name and e-mail address of one of their roommates for them to connect with and discussarrival plans, etc.Can participants change apartments?If a resident wants to move out of the apartment, he/she may discuss options with our ProgramsOffice.What is a “wellness” or a “non-wellness” apartment?Residents under the age of 21 will automatically be placed into a wellness apartment, in whichalcohol is prohibited. Students over the age of 21 will be placed into a non-wellness apartment, butmay request a wellness apartment and can be placed there as long as there is availability.Are there any medical facilities on property that are availableto participants?Our Parks and Resorts Health facility is open to Cast Members to treat illnesses or injuries that occuron the job. Participants that require treatment for non-occupational injuries or illnesses may visit one ofthe many nearby walk-in clinics.
