Interest them in joining a Diversity Resource Group.Our company values diversity and offers Cast Members many opportunities to makeconnections with others and have a voice in the way we conduct business. Diversity ResourceGroups usually meet monthly and are open to all Cast Members.11. Advise them to stay updated.We send weekly e-mails to all program participants that feature information of interest to them,such as College <strong>Program</strong> events, Cast discounts and ideas for low-cost ways to spend days off.Your family member will not want to miss one opportunity – so tell them to keep their eyes andears open!Frequently Asked Questionsfor Family & FriendsHow will my family member know where the nearest medicalfacilities are?Each participant receives a <strong>Program</strong> Guide and it contains a wealth of information, including listsof the nearest hospitals and urgent care facilities.My family member will have a car. What will he/she need to get avehicle decal?To park the vehicle at our housing property, participants must complete a Parking Agreementprovided by us prior to their arrival and required by the City of Anaheim upon arrival. Oncecomplete, all participants will receive a vehicle decal and assigned parking space.Will my family member have any vacation time?Your child has agreed to “full availability” during his/her program. Participants will work anaverage of 28-32 hours each week, but may be scheduled additional hours during peak attendanceperiods in our operation. Participants usually get two days off each week; however, they may notbe consecutive, and they typically work weekends and holidays. Your child may be able to ask forspecific days off without pay or switch shifts with a co-worker to accommodate the request for timeoff. We recommend that all Cast Members maintain an excellent record at work – no calling in, notardiness, etc.What learning resources are available?There are two collegiate courses currently offered at the <strong>Disney</strong>land ® Resort and each has beenrecommended for academic credit by the American Council on Education. We also offer seminarcourses designed to give students an overview of Line of Business at the <strong>Disney</strong>land Resort aswell as networking opportunities with <strong>Disney</strong> leaders. In addition, there are many other learningopportunities available to all students including Academic Field Experiences, the College <strong>Program</strong>Alumni Speaker Series, and various online/self-paced offerings and other personal and professionalresources available through the <strong>Disney</strong> University Libraries.
