Long and Dedicated service Award Long & Dedicated Service Award were bestowed on employees who completed 35, 30, 25, 20, 15 and 10 years in the IMFA Group as on 26.11.2009. Scholarships to students The prestigious Prof. Ghanshyam Dash Scholarship for Higher Education was bagged by Mr Rajesh Kumar Nayak, S/o Mr Thomas Nayak of Security dept . Mr Nayak secured 24 th rank in Orissa JEE and pursuing B.T Tech (Computer Science) at. Veer Surendra Sai University of Technology, Burla. Miss Laxmipriya Nayak, D/o Mr Pradipta Kumar Nayak of Security dept & Mr Guru Prasad Mishra, S/o Mr Satyabadi Mishra of CCP(E&I) dept who have secured 81.66% & 83.17 % respectively in the HSC Examination 2009 bagged the IMFA Group Student Scholarship. They will be receiving their scholarship amount till the completion of their graduation. The one time Scholarship award in the non-employees children category at Kalinga Vidyapitha went to Miss Subhashree Rout & Mr Ansuman Mohapatra for securing 95% & 93% respectively in HSC examination,2009. House keeping Award Mr R K Sahoo and his team received the Running Shield & cash award from the Guest of Honor as Coal Handling Plant bagged the best house keeping trophy for the year 2009. Best suggestion Award Best Suggestion Award went to Mr Dhusasan Sahoo, Asst Operator of Coal Handling Plant. Inter Schools Science Exhibition An inter School Science Exhibition was organized on the occasion of the Foundation Day and was inaugurated by Mr. B D Sahoo with 6 schools from the local area participating in it. Kalinga Vidyapitha, Saraswati Vidyamandir & Kalinga Public School were awarded with the certificates of merit and prizes as the winners. Inter Department Volleyball tournament The inter department Volleyball tournament was held from 09 to 16.11.2009. Security dept. emerged as the winner and Common Service dept bagged the runners trophy. CLUB TIME Dipavali Festival Deepavali, the festival of lights was celebrated at IMFA Staff Club on 17.10.2009. In the evening, the cracker show and the grand Housie game entertained the members & their families. Recreation Club also organized a decoration of lamps & firework in colony-II. Annual Indoor Games competition The indoor games competitions for the year 2009 was organized from 07 to 28.12.2009 for the members & their families. The winners were awarded on the 31.12.2009 on the occasion of IMFA Staff Club Annual day celebration. January – March 2010 6 alankar Club Annual Day & New Year Celebration The annual day of IMFA Staff club was celebrated on 31.12.2009. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the indoor games competitions. Enchanting music was presented by “Sangeet Prativa”. Children staged a variety of dance numbers. At mid night there was exchange of new year greetings followed by the draw for lucky couple, kid of the year events. Picnic: Ladies Club of Colony-1 organized a picnic for the members and children on 25.12.2009 at “NARAJ”, Cuttack. Jhoti Competition Ladies Club, Colony No.II organized a Jhoti competition on 22.12.2009. The winners were Mrs Pratima Samal, Mrs Minati Sahoo & Mrs Rasmita Routray.

The next time I see you, you'll have lost at least five pounds, 'his doctor assured him. When Reginald returned he shocked his doctor by having lost almost twenty pounds. 'Why, that's amazing, the doctor said, greatly impressed, 'You certainly must have followed my instructions.' January – March 2010 7 The story of a blind girl alankar There was a blind girl who hated herself just because she’s blind. She hated everyone, except her loving boyfriend. He’s always there for her. She said that if she could only see the world, she would marry her boyfriend. One day, someone donated a pair of eyes to her and then she can see everything, including her boyfriend. Her boyfriend asked her, “now that you can see the world, will you marry me?” The girl was shocked when she saw that her boyfriend is blind too, and refused to marry him. Her boyfriend walked away in tears, and later wrote a letter to her saying. “Just take care of my eyes dear.” This is how human brain changes when the status changed. Only few remember what life was before, and who’s always been there even in the most painful situations. Life is A Gift. Today before you think of saying an unkind word – Think of someone who can’t speak. Before you complain about the taste of your food – Think of someone who has nothing to eat. Before you complain about your husband or wife – Think of someone ho’s crying out for a companion. Today before you complain about life – Think of someone who went too early to heaven/hell. Before you complain about your children – Think of someone who desires children but they’re barren. Before you argue about your dirty house, someone didn’t clean or sweep – Think of the people who are living in the streets. Before whining about the distance you drive – Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet. And when you are tired and complain about your job – Think of the unemployed, the disabled and those who wished they had your job. But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another – Remember that not one of us are without sin and we all answer to one maker. And when depressing thoughts seem to get you down – Put a smile on your face and thank — you’re alive and still around Life is a gift – Live it, Enjoy it, Celebrate it, And Fulfill it.
