The beginning of his career, in 2005, in the city
of Ubatã, interior of Bahia, was based on
improvisation. Even without proper equipment
and good conditions, Erlon fell in love with the
sport modality and insisted on becoming an
athlete. His dedication started to pay off, four
years later, when he was called to be part of
the Brazilian national team. Since then, with
the adequate equipment, he was able to
improve his development which enabled him
to win three gold medals at the Medellin
South American Games in 2010. Together with
Ronilson Oliveira, he won the silver medal in
Guadalajara 2011, the event that qualified
them for the Olympic Games.
