At the final match he was defeated by the Cuban fighter Yasnier Toledo by 16 to 11. He participated in the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 but was eliminated in the first fight. At 13 he decided to practice boxing because of a bad example given by his quarrel some uncle – Roberto. With the sport practice he learned to channel his aggressiveness.
