Emanuel is the greatest winner in
the history of the beach volleyball
with 10 World Circuit titles and
eight Brazilian Circuit ones. He is
married to the former volleyball
player Leila and they have a son –
Lukas. In London, he will reach his
fifth olympic participation and
hopes to climb the podium for the
third time. In 2011, Emanuel was
honored with a statue after being
elected a “Hero” by the FIVB. He
started playing court volleyball for
the “Curitibano” club and in 1991
began to play beach volleyball.
