As a child he didn’t like basketball
and always preferred football. At
11, encouraged by his parents and
two older brothers he started to
practice basketball. He defends
the Brazilian national team for the
13th consecutive season and
participated briefly in the NBA,
playing for the San Antonio Spurs
(2003/2004) and the New Orleans
Hornets (2004/2005). He also
played for the Maccabi Tel Aviv of
Israel. He is married and has two
daughters. His strong points are:
defense, throw and group spirit.
