Luiz Alberto secured a place for the
London 2012 Olympic Games winning
the Brazil Trophy and breaking the
decathlon South American record
obtained by Pedro Ferreira Filho, 25
years ago. For the second consecutive
year, he was elected the best athlete
of the competition. He had his first
contact with athletics at the age of 11
and chose decathlon due to his skills
at all events. He points out the high
jump as the modality to be further
improved and intends to work in the
Physical Education area when he
retires from the tracks.
