At a given moment he had to decide
between sports and drums playing. He
chose athletics but the instrument
remains as his hobby, having even been
invited to record with local bands. A
founder of the social project “Medalha
de Ouro” (Gold Medal), he intends to
dedicate full time to this undertaking
after he retires as an athlete in 2016. The
idea is to strengthen the development of
a center for the training of potentially
talented athletes. At the Beijing Olympic
Games he finished the 800m in 18th place
and was the best South American
athlete of the event.
