He was part of the group that won the
fourth place in the 4X100m relay, at
Beijing 2008. Away from the tracks for
two years he almost gave up sports
practice, but didn’t, thanks to the
insistence of his mother Jaidete Nunes.
Her incentive made the athlete tattoo
her name on his right arm. His return to
sports came with the 200m record
breaking at the Brazil Trophy, a record
that had remained unbroken for 22
years. Bruno was discovered during
school competitions in his hometown
and plans to continue in the athletics
career up to the Olympic Games of 2020.
