Ademir surprised everybody with the
excellent results obtained along this year
because he only started to compete with
first level athletes in 2011. He began
practicing athletics as a child following
the steps of a cousin who was an
athletics trainee at the Celio de Barros
Stadium in Rio de Janeiro. Since then he
has been coached by Vania da Silva. At
the beginning he tried the long jump
but after an injury on his ankle he
decided to go for the sprint races. At the
Ibero American Championship he closed
the 4x100 relay event where the team
won the gold medal.
