Rodrigues who finished with the
silver medal. In Sydney 2000
Adriana Behar and Shelda and Zé
Marco and Ricardo won two
more silver medals and a bronze
one (Adriana Samuel and Sandra
Pires). In Athens 2004 Emanuel
and Ricardo won the gold medal
and Adriana Behar and Shelda,
the silver one. At Beijing 2008
Fabio Luiz and Marcio won the
silver and Emanuel and Ricardo
the bronze medals.
• The football player Formiga will
arrive in London for their fifth
olympic participation and will
join the mark of Helia Fofão – the
setter for the Volleyball National
Team - who at the Beijing 2008
Games completed her fifth
participation, then a record
holder among Brazilian female
athletes.
• Ana Luiza Ferrão will put an end
to the period of 20 years without
a Brazilian female shooter
disputing an edition of the
Olympic Games. The last one to
participate was Tânia Giansante
at the Barcelona Olympic Games
of 1992.
• Brazil will take the largest
delegation of its history in the
men’s boxing modality at the
same edition of the Olympic
Games with seven boxers, and
for the first time, will participate
with three female fighters.
• Since the Sydney Olympic Games
with Maria Elizabete Jorge, the
Brazilian delegation did not
count with a female participation
