Rosângela called the attention of
the athletics community, in 2008,
when at the age of 17 she won the
100m event at the Brazil Trophy.
Born in the USA, she moved to
Brazil as a one year-old baby. The
very beauty-conscious Rosângela,
who has a piercing on the nose,
broke a taboo when she won the
100m in Guadalajara 2011 – since
1983 a Brazilian athlete hasn’t won
the quickest athletics race at Pan
American Games. During the same
competition she was the last runner
of the victorious 4x100m relay.
