Thiago has always enjoyed sports,
a characteristic inherited from his
parents. His mother Iveth was part
of the Rio Grande do Sul Volleyball
Team and Ricardo, his father, was
a professional basketball player.
Before dedicating himself
professionally to volleyball Thiago
practiced futsal, football and judo.
He was selected as the best player
and the best hitter at the World
Youth Championship of 2005. He
made his debut at the adult
Brazilian National Team in 2009.
