He grew up in a São Paulo poor
neighborhood and worked as a
food packer at a supermarket, as
an office-boy and street salesman
during his teenage years. When
the libero position was created for
volleyball, in 1998, he was without
a club and made his living by
selling Clorox bottles. Years later,
he became a fundamental
member of the national team
contributing to its countless
victories in the XXI century.
