A Physical Education graduate, he has 15 training sessions a week. He finds inspiration in Leandro Macedo (thriathlon athlete) and his idols are the Formula One pilots Michael Schumacher (for his coldness) and Ayrton Senna (for his warm heartedness). At 15, in São Carlos, he started to train aquathlon that unites swimming and running which, later, enabled him to, adopt the triathlon as his main modality. Colucci was unable to attend the Pan American Games Rio 2007 preliminary trials due to a serious injury on his right-side ankle.
