At 14, Natalia was introduced to
taekwondo and during her third lesson the
coach predicted that, in two years, she
would be a world youth champion. At 16,
she won the Killarney World Youth
Championship, in Ireland, and later was
the adult world champion in Madrid,
Spain. Last year, in November, she came
first in the Americas Pre-Olympic defeating
the Mexican Athlete Maria Espinoza, gold
in Beijing 2008. One month before that,
she competed at the Guadalajara Pan
American Games after being inactive for
almost two years because of injuries on
the right-side knee.
