The first contact with athletics was
at a project of the Timon City Hall.
Presently she is trained by Sanderlei
Parrela, world vice-champion of the
400m. Living and training in São
Paulo since 2008, Joelma relaxes
playing computer games and
reading the Bible. Her athletics idol
is the former sprinter from Piaui,
Claudia Roberto de Souza. She
cheers for the Palmeiras football
club. She was the first runner at the
Guadalajara 2011 Pan American
Games relay and at the Ibero
American Championship.
