Considered the best Brazilian athlete of
the junior category in 2007, Henrique
began to swim at the age of 5 by
doctor’s recommendation. At 11, he
participated of a festival organized by
the former swimmer Gustavo Borges
and was one of most outstanding
athletes. It was then that he decided to
give up football entirely which was his
favorite hobby at that time. He lived in
Curitiba until the age of 15 when he
was recruited by the Minas Tennis
Clube. In order to complete his
preparation for London he went back
to his hometown.
