Felipe started swimming by medical
advice at the age of 12. He
participated in the Pan American
Games Rio 2007 but stayed out of
the Beijing Olympic Games despite
having qualified for the 100m
breaststroke event, because two
other athletes reached a higher
mark. He won the silver medal in
Guadalajara 2011. He enjoys
practicing other sport modalities
and tried futsal, artistic gymnastics
and trained judo, kung fu and
taekwondo. He is an admirer of the
volleyball coach Bernardinho.
