Franciela did not compete in the Rio
2007 Pan American Games due to an
injury but she reacted positively and
won a gold medal at the
Guadalajara 2011 Pan American
Games. Before the tracks she
practiced football and handball.
Until she settled for the sprint events
she tried the javelin and the discus
throw. Superstitious, she always
steps on the tracks with her right
foot. When she is free Franciela
enjoys watching TV. Her sport idols
are the sprinters Lucimar de Moura
and Maila Machado.
