After her return to Brazil the judo athlete chose the climate of the beach of Santos and now is part of the high performance team coached by the Olympic champion Rogério Sampaio. Due to the years of training in Japan she is considered a very disciplined athlete. She secured a place for the London Olympic Games winning a bronze medal at the Pan American Championship. Judo

After one year away from competitions due to a knee surgery, she returned to the tatami in 2009 in a new category, half heavyweight.
