Magno began to pedal at 15 when
he met a group of cyclists training
for a competition at his
hometown, joined it and won the
event for the youth category.
Later he moved to Campo Grande
(MS) and began defending the
Gilmar Bicicletas team. Further on
he raced for the São Caetano and
São José dos Campos teams in São
Paulo before transferring to Funvic
of Pindamonhagaba.
