Between 1995 and 1997 Rubinho
worked for a brick factory. From
1998 to 2002 he worked as a mason.
He kept investing his little savings
on bicycle parts and competed on
weekends. Today he makes a living
with the sport modality. He
travelled around Brazil and has
visited various countries thanks to
cycling. He participated in the
Beijing Olympic Games in 2008 and
scored the 21st position. He was the
5th place at the Guadalajara 2011
Pan American Games, hindered by a
blown out tire on his bike.
