Welcome to DTU

In 2006, 140 students from 38 countries were admitted to DTU´s
MSc programs. Despite the fact that Denmark is a minor player on
the international education market, the figures demonstrate that a
significant number of international MSc students have found their
MSc program of choice at Technical University of Denmark (DTU).
They obviously demand excellent engineering courses that com-
bine research and technology application and study programs that
provide a set of professional competences ensuring the graduates a
head start in their engineering career.
The scientific staff of DTU counts 854 researchers and 673 PhD students.
The support staff counts 889 persons. We are all very pleased with the
results in 2005, including:
• 1,135 SCI cited research papers
• more than 400 courses taught in English
• 11 filed patent applications
• 7 new research-based start-up companies
• 360 collaboration agreements with industry partners
• 150 PhD thesis
• 1,075 graduates
• more than 800 international students
These figures reveal the true strengths of DTU:

Throughout the long history of DTU, internationalization in education
and research has always been on the agenda. For many years it served as
an instrument for cultural exchange and international solidarity.
Today, in a globalized and competitive education market, internation-
alization of education at DTU moreover serves to meet the constantly
increasing demand for high quality and up to date engineering programs.
For you as a prospective MSc student, studying at DTU will be an opportu-
nity to get access to a number of novel educational specializations and re-
search projects – each with a technological and industry related content.
