The board has a special role topromote and support the educational program within electrical engineering, whichincludes the two Divisions of Electrical Power Engineering and High VoltageEngineering. The board typically meets twice a year. This year ELKRAFTDAGEN was held on March 19, 2009. The program was extendedinto two parts. The first part was held in the facilities of the Division of ElectricalEngineering and Division of High Voltage Engineering, at Hörsalsvägen 11.An exhibition was prepared in the entrance hall with industry booths and the presentationof research results. Guided tours were provided to show the laboratoryfacilities and ongoing student and research projects. The second part was held ina lecture room in the form of a seminar with invited speakers from the industry.Around 150 participants took part. The magazine ERA published an articleabout the successful event including interviews with students and industrysponsors.Undergraduate coursesThe Division holds an education program in collaboration with the Division of HighVoltage Engineering for the international masters program in Electric PowerEngineering, as well as courses in the first years in the E-curriculum.EEK136 Environmental and power technology(7.5 credits) Yngve HamneriusThe aim of the course is to give the electrical engineering students knowledgeregarding sustainable development. The students approach environmentalproblems, primarily in electric power engineering. The aim is also to initiate adiscussion on sustainable development and assess the measures of society in thearea of environment and resources. Another aim is to develop the ability totransfer information in an effective way.EEK140 Electric power engineering(7.5 credits) Ola CarlsonThe course aims at providing the necessary basic knowledge in electrical powertechnology that is important for all electrical engineers. The goal of this course isto make the participants understand the basic principles of electrical powercomponents and systems, and know their possibilities and limitations. In addition, the participants become familiar with important concepts and methods ofcalculation. The course has its main focus on normal operation and steady state.15 |
