From thelocal point ofview the lack ofsources is noted and the possible impact ofsome oftheenvironmental catastrophes are discussed. The implications for the O'Toole Clan located at the frontier ofGaelic Ireland and theEnglish Pale is described and the processes ofacculturation explored.
