Without them you will be able to complete mostof the detail but you won’t be able to submit it.Digital passport style photo of yourself! The site hps://www.passports.gov.au/web/requirements/photos.aspxdetails what is an acceptable photoScout membership number Medicare number – Note that the last digit of the Medicarenumber is the posion of your name on the cardApplicaons will be made inially online through the websitewww.aj2013.scouts.com.au .When you begin your applicaon youwill register and create a user name and password, please makesure you keep a copy of these so that you can log back into yourapplicaon and change any details as necessary. An email will besent to the address you enter so please make sure that it is onethat you are able to access. It includes three opons for you toacvate your registraon. Once your registraon is acvated youcan proceed with your applicaon. The applicaon process willlead you through a number of different pages of informaon but itwon’t let you proceed to the next page without compleng specificdetails on the current page.Once your applicaon is complete you will have the ability to printit out – you will need to do this. The printed applicaon has someareas where signatures are required as well as approvals from variouslevels within the movement. These details need to be completedand sent in to Branch Head Quarters with the inial payment. Asupplementary informaon page specific to <strong>Queensland</strong> will alsobe printed. This form needs to be completed and submied withyour applicaon.For the Leaders there are two disncve roles they can undertakewhile at the Jamboree. The first is as a Line Leader. In this role youwill be camping with your <strong>Scouts</strong> and will be responsible for aTroop of 36 <strong>Scouts</strong>. The adult leadership team within a Troop willconsist of a Jamboree Troop Leader (JTL) and three Assistant JamboreeTroop Leaders (AJTLS). The JTL has overall responsibility forthe whole Troop and is supported by three AJTLs who will alsohave some specific responsibilies in the areas of welfare, acviesand as quartermaster.The other role is as a Service Leader. In this role you could be partof a team of leaders contribung to any facet of the running of theJamboree including acvies, logiscs, transport, security, administraon,camping, markeng, communicaons, sites and services.These are all vital roles that are needed to operate a major acvityof this nature. Your preferences on the applicaon will be takeninto account but depending on the needs of the Jamboree execu‐ve you may not always be able to get your first preference. As aService Leader you will have the opon of being accommodated inTroop lines so that you can share in the experience of camping andeang with the <strong>Scouts</strong>. There is a limit of two Service Leaders perTroop and you are not expected to take an acve role in the managementof the Troop. For those not in Troop lines there is a Leaderscamp site and catering area.Scout OutScout out is on the weekend of 29‐30 th of October at BP Park. Thisweek end will be a fun and acve one in which you can learn newskills, refresh a few old skills and share ideas while parcipang inScout Out Patrols. We sure did have lots of fun and laughter.RICHLANDS SCOUT’S MEDALLION SUCCESSOn Saturday 3rd September<strong>2011</strong> the Richlands Scout Groupheld a ceremony to presentBriany Tolliday the AustralianScout Medallion.The ceremony was held at StHugh's Anglican Church hall andwas aended by Parents, Youthmembers , Brisbane South Region Commissioner Ian McPhee, JohnOxley District Commissioner Owen Stewart, Assistant District CommissionersNeil Geddes and Ricky Lyons OAM and Richlands WardCouncillor Milton Dick. Briany's parents Sco Tolliday (ScoutLeader) and Cathy Tolliday (Cub Leader) both aended along withher brothers11
