Director's Note 11Peter Pan has taught me a lot of things. From a practical perspective, it has taught e howto assemble a play from the auditions all the way to organizing food and rehearsals for the ctoxm e demands of actors these days are crazy, huh?) But most importantly, it has showed m thewonders of teamwork and how each person is a part of the puzzle-without each person, the playcannot be complete. What first started off with five seniors in Mr. Cooke's office pitching an ideaof a student production is now hally a reality. With a cast from Nepal, Bhutan, India, USA, Mexico,Korea and Canada, among others, the relationships that hape formed through the process orexcuse of this production can be seen as priceless for many, especially with this bemg a studentinitiatedand -led production (where we have no one to blame if anything does go wrong).But the one element that has been the same whether in the hallways or in rehearsals, andhopefully what will happen on this night, is what I believe the most essential part of the play,laughter. All the relationships have been formed through the la@ter. This element has led mdig deeper into what Peter Pan says at one point in the play: "I always want to be a little boy ato always have fun." This for me is disturbing-why someone is only allowed to have a goodwhen they are young. Do we stop living once we become older just because wesibilities? I wish I were present at that moment when Peter says it, just so that I couldwrong. Tonight, we hope that we can entertaiu you, make you laugh, make you shed amaybe even feel emotions for one of the many colorful characters that are goon stage. *, . ,I asked a lot of the actors to go look down to the elementary schoolin the Quad, but when you go there you will soon observe that there area bunch of what I notice as crazy seniors and a bunch of little elementary sscore the winning goal. The kind of energy they have is unexplainable, and it seemsthem have just forgotten the world behind them where nothing matters. This iswant to dedicate this play firstly to the Class'of 2009, the class that brings echoewherever they go. I also want this play to go to the people who saw me take my first steps,:say my&st words and are now here to see my first directorial production, my parents, whoq I cannotshow enough gratitude towards.
