DSLINK MODULAR DSL TERMINAL BLOCK SYSTEMSECTION 1The DSLink Data-Ready Modular Terminal Block DSLINKSystem re-engineers and pre-provisions copper networksfor rapid broadband data services delivery, increasingflexibility, future remote provisioning and providing significant longtermcompetitive advantage. It is ideally suited for bridged-tap removaland line testing in new installations or existing network upgrades.Designed to accommodate protected and non-protected configurations,the DSLink Terminal Block System can be provided with twoCategory 3 or Category 5 shielded, filled or air core cable stubs forInput (CO) and Output (Field) connections.The DSLink Terminal Block is equipped with Bridging Connectorsthat connect the CO feeder side to the Field side. The modular Mini-Rocker Service Wire Modules utilize proven IDC technology and containa high viscosity environmental sealing compound for maximum protectionagainst moisture intrusion and corrosion of the connection points.The DSLink Service Wire Modules are available as either thefinger-operated Mini-Rocker IDC copper wire connector that willaccommodate 26 AWG (0.4mm) to 22 AWG (0.63mm) solid copperwire conductors or the Universal Service Wire Module intended for usewith heavier gauge C or F drop-wire up to 18-1/2 AWG (0.96mm).F EATURES/BENEFITS• Data-ready, Category 5 rated, xDSL compatible forrapid deployment of DSL circuits• Utilizes proven IDC environmentally sealedtermination technology to ensure maximum protectionof each connection point from moisture intrusionand corrosion• Upgradable for enhanced functions such as protection,line testing, remote service provisioning, etc.• Provides “look both ways” test access points for easeof installation, testing and service without removingservice wire• Each circuit pair can be easily tested by inserting atest clip at the DSLink Service Wire Module. FS2 CONNECTOR MODULESChannell’s FS2 25-pair, 20-pair and 10-pairFS2connector modules are fully compatible with thecommonly used MS 2 -style industry standard modules.They allow high speed, accurate splicing of telecommunicationcables. FS2 modules ensure optimum use ofspace, reducing the splice/jointing bundle size.Each module consists of four molded parts, a bottomcover, bottom block, top block and cover. The twoblocks are ultrasonically welded, and together constitutethe body of the connector. A latching mechanismlocks the covers and the body together. The top lefthand corner of each module is cut to ensure properorientation of the module during crimping.Built-in test ports opposite each wire entry allow accessfor testing of circuits without any need to open the module. The U-contactsand wire cut-off blades are held securely in the body. The contacts strip theinsulation and complete the connection by applying continuous pressure onthe conductors while the blades trim the excess wire.
