Each unit isconstructed for long life and requires minimalmaintenance. There are no moving parts ormotors to wear out, no air fi lters or lubricationrequired.All Chromalox ChromaStar radiant heatersfeature the exclusive “Arctic End” PatentPending heating element terminal construction.This feature lowers the terminal boxtemperatures resulting in extended elementand wiring life.Extruded aluminum housings are rigid to provideadded protection to the heating elementslocated at the focal point of a built-in mirroredaluminum reflector(s).The heater(s) consist of hairpin bent .430”diameter alloy sheath tubular element(s)constructed of high quality resistance wireembedded in carefully selected MgO refractoryinsulation. The element feature “Arcticend” terminal construction for longer life andcooler terminal enclosure temperatures. Theelement(s) also feature terminal constructionusing a waged-in silicone bushings thatproduce unequalled resistance to moistureabsorption. The heating element(s) connectto a gasketed, moisture resistance terminalenclosure with liquid-tight bulkhead threadedfi ttings. An extension refl ector constructed of0.050” mirrored aluminum extends over theassembly to provide a more uniform heatingpattern.PortableFixedAll portable heaters are supplied fully assembledto a rugged, chrome-nickel platedtubular steel cart and handle (1.5 and 2.0 kWheater has a fi xed pedestal). The cart featureslarge wheels for easy portability. All portableheaters include safety grills to protect personnelfrom contacting hot elements.Field wiring is accomplished through a 3/4”conduit opening in terminal enclosure. The1.5 kW u nit comes complete with a factoryinstalled 6 foot cord and 2 prong groundingtype plug. Other models can be fi eld wired usingaccessory cable and plug kits shown.Fixed OverheadThe Chromalox ChromaStar radiant heateris shipped fully assembled and can be hungfrom thee ceiling with 2 chains or rigid anglebrackets attached to the heater brackets locatedon the back of the heater.Field wiring is accomplished through theliquid tight terminal enclosure. No secondarysplice box required.Protective screens, disconnect switches andportable carts are available for these heatersas shown.
