A GIT-4 consists ofa gutter-mounted computerized sensor and acontrol enclosure connected by a 12' 6" (3.8meter) cable. If the distance between the sensorand control needs to be changed, pleasecontact Customer Service. A GIT-4 includesan RCU-2 Remote Control Unit. It can belocated up to 150 feet (45.7 meters) from thecontrol enclosure. It mounts in a single-gangswitch box.The GIT-4 senses both moisture and temperatureconditions in the gutter or down spoutthus assuring optimum control. Ice meltingheaters operate at temperatures below 38˚F(3.3˚C) while moisture is present. Operationcontinues a period of time thereafter to insurecomplete melting. While operating, the heatersare maintained at a nominal temperatureof 38˚F (3.3˚C). The RCU-2 provides remotemonitoring of the ice melting system operation. It also controls GFEP operation and canoverride automatic heater operation.Line voltage and ice melting heater connectionsare located in the control enclosure. The GIT-4 operates from single-phase 120,208/240 or 277 volt supply selected by ainternal jumper connection that is set duringinstallation. It controls single-phase icemelting heater loads of up to 26 amps. TheGIT-4 meets the new NEC Class 2 low voltagerequirement for wet locations. It is both ULand CUL Listed while the RCU-2 is a NECClass 2 device. Safety testing was done to ULStandard 873.Specifications and Ordering InformationModel Number PCN StockGIT-4 Gutter De-Icing/Sensor Control 389810 SStock Status: S = stock AS = assembly stock NS = non-stockTo Order—Specify model, PCN and quantity. The ETI logo is a registered trademark of Environmental Technology, Inc.
