Information & ResourcesProduct EducationBioMedtrix conducts product workshopsthroughout the United States and Europe. Eachworkshop details the application and surgicaltechnique for a specific product such as theUniversal Hip (BFX ® and CFX ® systems), CanineTotal Knee, TATE Elbow ® , or I-Loc ® Nail.Workshops consist of classroom instructionsupported by lab experience, offeringparticipants the opportunity to use thesurgical instrumentation in order to familiarizethemselves with the procedure.Product Certification ProgramSurgeons who have completed a BioMedtrixworkshop may choose to participate in ourProduct Certification Program. The programis designed to extend the course beyond theworkshop setting and encourages review andpractice of proper surgical technique.Participants are required tocomplete practice cases,submit them for review,and receive a finalpassing score beforebeginning clinical cases.Certified candidateswill have demonstratedunderstanding of theconcepts necessary forsuccessful clinical results.Certification is providedfor the Universal Hip,Canine Total Knee, andTATE Elbow.Calibration ProgramTotal joint systems require accurateand precise instruments to achievea preparation capable of long termsuccess with the implants. Reinspectionof instrumentation is recommendedfollowing every 25 surgical procedures.The Instrument Calibration Program is aquality control service developed to maintainthe accuracy of these instruments.The program consists of a scheduled returnof your instrument set for the followingprocedures:• Dimensional reinspection of allinstruments• Functional evaluation• Repair (when possible)• Refinishing and cleaning• QC report submitted withrecommendationsThe program cost is $250, which would becredited towards the purchase price of anyinstruments recommended for replacement.The turnaround time is approximately two weeks.2
