Packer SystemsECV Storm ValveWeatherford’s ECV storm valve is run above the DLT compressionsetservice packer or CSTH storm packer to isolate the tubing belowthe packer for disconnection during a weather emergency or surfaceequipmentrepair.The valve has a J overshot running tool, which a quarter turndisconnects. This quick, safe, cost-effective well closing requiresno tubing pulling. The valve can be repeatedly opened and closed,independent of the disconnection feature, enabling packer-pressuretesting before disconnection.The heavy-duty bearing assembly enables free valve operation with therunning string in compression, easing operation on floating rigs.
