In conclusion• Invasive <strong>candidiasis</strong> still has a high mortality rate• Antifungal prophylaxis <strong>in</strong> ICU is effective but<strong>in</strong>appropriate• Empirical antifungal therapy <strong>in</strong> ICU is not proveneffective• Prediction rules to start pre-emptive therapy have ahign NPV, and a reasonable specificity.
