<strong>Indiana</strong> <strong>State</strong> <strong>Cross</strong> <strong>Country</strong> / Track & Field Coaching StaffErin Gilreath - Women’s Track & Field Assistant CoachErin Gilreath begins her second seasonas the throws coach at <strong>Indiana</strong> <strong>State</strong> withthe <strong>2012</strong>-2013 season. Gilreath had threethrowers earn All-American recognitionduring her initial season as the Sycamorethrows coach and she has all three throwsback.Felisha Johnson earned first team All-American honors with a fifth place finish inthe shot put at the NCAA Outdoors whilealso earning first team honors with a fourthplace finish in the weight throw at the NCAAIndoors. She was also an honorable mentionAll-American in the discus with a 22nd placefinish at the NCAA Outdoors. Mary Theisenwas an honorable mention All-Americanwith a 20th place finish in the shot put atthe NCAA Outdoors. On the men’s side,Brandon Pounds picked up first team All-American honors with sixth place finish inthe hammer throw at the NCAA Outdoors.He also was a second team All-American selectionwith a 16th place finish in the weightthrow at the NCAA Indoors.Also during her inaugural campaign withthe Sycamores, Gilreath guided the Sycamoresto seven All-Conference recognitionsin the throws with Pounds winning theHammer Throw at the MVC Outdoor Championships.Gilreath comes to <strong>Indiana</strong> <strong>State</strong> fromAnderson <strong>University</strong> where she was an assistanttrack & field coach for the past twoyears where she coordinated recruiting,ERIN GILREATHASSISTANT COACH (Throws)WOMEN’S TRACK & FIELDSECOND SEASONdeveloped and implemented the trainingprograms for male and female thrower, andoversaw the strength and conditioning forall track and field athletes. She assisted withfive Heartland Christian Athletic Conferencechampions and two NCAA Division III qualifiers.She began her coaching career as agraduate assistant at Ball state <strong>University</strong> in2007.Gilreath is a three-time USA IndoorChampion, two-time USA Outdoor Champion,2004 U.S. Olympian, a member of the2005 and 2009 World Championship team,and 2006 World Cup team member. She setthe American record in the hammer with athrow of 242’-4” (73.87 meters) on her finalattempt in winning her second straight USAOutdoor title in 2005.She was coached at Florida by LarryJudge, one of the premier throws coacheswho was an NCAA Championship Finalist inthe shot put while a student-athlete at <strong>Indiana</strong><strong>State</strong>. Judge also served as an assistantcoach at <strong>Indiana</strong> <strong>State</strong> for five years wherehe coached 19 conference champions andeight All-Americans including three NCAArunners-up including World Championshipparticipant Christy Barrett (Sherman).Gilreath earned her Bachelor of Arts fromthe <strong>University</strong> of Florida in 2003 with a majorin Spanish and a minor in Linguistics.She earned a Master of Arts in Sport Administrationfrom Ball <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong> in 2009and added a Master of Arts in Coaching/Sports Performance from Ball <strong>State</strong> <strong>University</strong>this past May.She is also an accomplished author as sheworked with her former coach at Florida,Larry Judge, in writing 10 manuscripts.
