New Steel Mesh Barrier StairRegistered Design | Art. No. 3226NewproductTemporarily protecting the edges of stairways during constructionhas previously been complicated and expensive. The variednature of the stairs, landings, and returns, often required manycut tubes, sharp ends, and much purpose built protection. The new Steel Mesh Barrier Stair (SMB Stair) has be designedto solve these problems, offering a systemised solution that canstand alone or integrate with either SMB system. The SMB Stair provides continuous edge protection alongstaircases, and at returns the Gap Closer ensures continuity andprotects any sharp edges. The landings are protected using theSMB system, linking seamlessly to the SMB Stair. The SMB Stairis supported on the adjustable posts, and can be fitted to anyangle of permanent or temporary stairway. It can also be raisedto allow access to work on the outside edge of the stair unit. TheSMB Stair is a single component, and can be fitted to either sideof the staircase.

Stair Attachment|Registered DesignArt. Nos. 1202/4202Using the Stair Attachment, the SMB Stair can be placedoutside the staircase, so as notto restrict the useable width ofthe stair. This allows finishingworks to go ahead withoutremoving the edge protection.Multi FootRegistered DesignArt. Nos. 1290/4290Using the Multi Foot, the SMBStair can be placed on thesurface of the step, right at theedge. It isheld in place by 4 integralCombistraps, and forms asmooth curve between theattached edges, protectingsharp corners and solving avast range of edge protectioncontinuity problems.Regulations and StandardsThe new SMB Stair, when combinedwith the Safety Post and fitted witheither the Stair Attachment, MultiFoot, or the Multi Clamp and StairAngle, provides an edge protectionsolution that has been tested to confirmcompliance with the requirements ofEN 13374 Temporary Edge ProtectionSystems, Class A. Full performanceinformation is available through thetechnical information sheets, userinstructions, and training courses.Features and Benefits Provides continuous edge protectionto a run of stairs. Complies with EN 13374 Class A Toeboard is integrated for ease andspeed of installation. Can be lifted in place, using theSMB Holder, to allow works to theedge of the stair.
