Microsoft has bundled additional tools, utilities,and documentation in the Microsoft Platform SDK package for Windows. With the release ofthe .NET 3.0 managed APIs, it is now known as the Microsoft Windows SDK.The Microsoft Windows SDK contains a great set of technology examples that span theWin32 API, covering most aspects of the Windows platform in addition to the new set of .NET3.0 managed APIs. Tools, samples, and documentation are provided in the Platform SDK, andalthough not a requirement, they facilitate developers working with .NET 3.0 applications.
