Infrared Heater

Heat& HumansThe sun, our source of life, provides us with heat and light. Sunlight is whatenables all creatures to live, complete their energy cycle, and grow. It warms ourbodies, even in winter, when it filters through the clouds. This doesn’t mean thatthe earth suddenly warms up. We feel warm because the photons that sunlightis made of transfer their energy to the surfaces they hit.Sunlight is not just composed of visible light, but of infrared rays as well. Theserays are the most efficient for transferring heat and helping warm the Earth. Theoperating principle of UFO infrared heaters is based on this phenomenon. Theheater begins emitting medium wave infrared rays in a mere 30 seconds.

The UFO HeaterDifferenceThe heating systems we use in our homes are generally grouped into two categories: convective (classical systemswhich transfer heat by using air as a media) and radiant (systems which transfer heat by radiation). Convective heaterstransfer heat to surfaces through the movement of heated air from one place to another. This means that they need toheat all the air in a given space in order to heat the environment. Depending on the volume of air, it may therefore takeseveral minutes for us to feel warm in an average size room. As convective heaters warm the air, they also dry it out, reducing humidity.UFO heaters are quite different from classical heating systems. They heat our bodies just like the sun heats our world, delivering heat directly to our bodies, clothes and surrounding objects with the help of photons. Once heated, theseobjects help heat the air in the entire room. In addition to this, the aluminum housings of UFO heaters act as convectiveheaters and are effective in warming the ambient air. Since UFO heaters do not consume oxygen or burn any fuel (unlikewood, coal, or gas heaters), they don’t cause headaches or odours, or release any particles into the air. Therefore, thereis no risk of intoxication.UFO heater installation and operating costs are very low,an additional benefit as energy costs continues theirsteady increase. UFO infrared heaters begin heating in aslittle as 30 seconds. Due to their high efficiency in transferringheat, they reduce energy consumption and contributeto saving the environment by using energy resourcesefficiently. Since UFO units heat by infrared light, they arenot affected by wind or air flows and allow you to redirectand control the heat produced. Not only will they keep youwarm indoors, they’ll also keep you warm outdoors. Youcan use them comfortably and efficiently on your patio, porch, or deck, or in your garage or workshop. Comparedto classical heating systems, UFO infrared heaterstransfer heat up to80% more efficiently.Depending on factorssuch as room size, degree of insulation, the season, and soon, the efficiency ratemay be even higher.

Actual temperatures may vary.

Correct and Efficient Useof UFO HeatersMount your UFO at least 1.80m (5’10”) from the floor in accordance with the distance from the ceiling and walls indicated in the User’sGuide.Mount your UFO at least 1m (3’3 ft) away from flammable materials such as shower curtains, window curtains, etc. Make sure to leavea distance of at least 1m (3’3 ft) from bathtubs, showers, sinks, and any other areas with water.Never use your UFO vertically or at an angle. Make sure that the heater is horizontal during operation. Misuse will cause the elementwire of your UFO to overheat and collapse on the lower side due to gravity. This will damage your heater.737When leaving a room or area, turn off your UFO heater. You can save more on your heating costs by using your heater this way.Because your UFO begins heating within 30 seconds, there is no need to leave it on while you are not in the room. You can alsoincrease the efficiency of your heater by keeping the reflector clean. When you use your UFO heater on the stand, make sure your heater is balanced and horizontal. Clamp the power cable on the backof the stand, as it may pull down one side of the heater due to its weight and cause the heater to tilt to one side.

Uses of UFO HeatersPlaces Where Local Heating is NecessaryHeating a specific room or space with infrared heat instead ofan entire area in a house or office using central heat significantlydecreases energy consumption. The UFO infrared heater is moreefficient and economical because it starts heating in as little as30 seconds. Use your UFO heater in meeting rooms, hallways, bathrooms, nurseries, home offices, restaurants, offices, andmore. In a 30 m2 (322 sq. ft.) room that is rarely used, a UFOheater will be more efficient and economical than a conventionalheater.Even in large spaces, the areas people actually use may be quitesmall compared to the total area size. In situations like this, it ismore efficient to provide local heat where people work or gatherthan to heat the entire room. Examples include workspaces infactories, showrooms, cashier desks, and restaurant tables.Heating a workspace in a warehouse with a UFO infrared heateris really more efficient and quick than heating it with a conventionalheater. For more, heating only spaces where customersor employees are present is a more efficient way to use energy.UFO Heaters in Locationswith Extensive Heat LossThe heaters that you choose should be suitable for local heatingin locations where there is extensive heat loss due to poor insulation.Since a UFO infrared heater does not use air to transferheat, it is up to 80% more efficient and cost-effective for heatingareas with extensive heat loss, such as construction sites, workshops and garage.

Uses of UFO HeatersLocations with High CeilingsHeating large areas with high ceilings is one of the biggestmodern-day heating challenges. The installation and operationof conventional heaters in such areas is a financial drain formany establishments. Since UFO infrared heaters do not necessarilyheat the entire volume of air in a given space, they are ahighly energy efficient alternative for locations with high ceilings.Locations with VentilationUFO infrared heaters are perfectly suited for areas that requireventilation. Examples of such locations include conferencerooms, large shopping malls, bars, coffee shops, commercialkitchens, chemical factories, etc. Since UFO heaters do not heatthe entire volume of air, heat losses due to the evacuation of hotair outside are very limited compared to a conventional heatingsystem.Locations that Need to be Heatedfor a Certain Period of TimeContinuous heating of areas only used for part of the day takes along time and increases energy costs. UFO heaters are up to 100times more efficient than conventional heaters in locations thatare only used at certain periods of the day, such as bathrooms, dining rooms, conference halls, sports arenas, and more.

Uses of UFO HeatersLocations with High Foot TrafficLocations where doors are frequently opened and closed suchas restaurants, coffee shops, retail stores, supermarkets, salons, pharmacies, etc. are subjects to serious heat losses. BecauseUFO heaters heat objects rather than the air directly, frequentopening and closing of doors will not affect their heating capacity. For example, a 40 m2 (430 sq. ft.) retail store with high foottraffic can be heated 2–3 times more efficiently with a UFO infraredheater than with a conventional heater.Open and Semi-Open AreasUFO heaters heat objects and peoples directly with their infraredradiation. Therefore, they are perfectly suited for outdoor use.Conventional heaters are not very efficient for outdoor use becausethey mainly heat air, which then rises and disappears withoutheating people. Regular infrared heaters won’t do the joboutdoors either; they don’t have the same radiation wave lengthas a UFO infrared heater, which transfers the heat energy mostefficiently to people. The reflection angle of UFO heaters reflectoris also designed to transfer infrared rays without diffraction tothe farthest target area.

UFO OutdoorHeating DistancesECABDThe efficiency of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) heaters is ratherlow, as they generate long wave radiation. These heaters onlywork well for people seated very close to them, not at any distance.Due to convection, much of the energy disperses withoutreaching those sitting further away. These devices also bearseveral safety risks. People sitting outside in a restaurant orcafé will be disturbed by having a LPG tank next to them. LPGheaters also generate combustion odours. UFO-E and UFO-Iheaters are produced in accordance with the IP34 (Ingress Protection)Safety Classification code. All electrical components areinsulated against water, and the anodized surface, aluminumreflector, and stainless steel interior parts are highly corrosionresistant. Therefore, even if it rains, you can safely use theseheaters outdoors. Please note that remote controlled model isnot intended for outdoor use.The table below contains information regarding the heatingareas and mounting distances for outdoor use of UFO heaters.Because the outdoor heating area will vary depending on geographicalconditions such as outside temperatures and windspeeds, these are given as minimum and maximum ranges.Although the infrared rays of UFO heaters are not affected bythe wind or ambient temperature, people will feel colder in windyweather. When temperature loss is high, more energy is required. Some tests suggest that 150 to 300 watts of energy per squaremeter (15–30 Watts/sq. ft.) is enough to efficiently heat outdoorswith a UFO.UFO-E Outdoor A B C DEMax in terms of height2.0 m 2.5 m 3.0 m 3.7 m1200-1300W 4-8 m 2 1.8 m (max. 2.0 m) 2.3 m 3.0 m 4.0 m 3.0 m - - -1400-1550W 5-10 m 2 1.8 m (max. 2.2 m) 2.7 m 3.0 m 4.0 m 3.0 m - - -1800-2000W 6-12 m 2 1.8 m (max. 2.5 m) 3.1 m 3.5 m 4.5 m 3.5 m 3.0 m - -2300-2500W 8-16 m 2 1.8 m (max. 3.0 m) 3.9 m 3.5 m 4.5 m 3.5 m 3.2 m 2.8 m -2900-3200W 10-20 m 2 1.8 m (max. 3.7m) 4.5 m 4.0 m 5.0 m 4.0 m 3.7 m 3.2 m 2.8 mNote: The values in cells B, C, and D in the table above were determined in a windless environment.
