The company MicroStep, spol. s r.o. was established in
1991 by members of the Department of Control and Automation,
Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information
Technology, Slovak University of Technology in Bratislava.
It is the mother company of MicroStep Group® – a group
of companies focused on development, production and
sales of CNC cutting machines and supply of control systems
and software products to power industry, rubber industry,
automobile industry and mechanical engineering.
In the area of mechanical engineering, MicroStep, spol.
s r.o. is an OEM of machines for cutting of materials based
on energy-beam technologies: laser, plasma, oxyfuel,
waterjet and high speed spindles. Through a network of
3 daughter companies and 35 authorized representatives
the company delivers CNC cutting machines to 50 countries
worldwide, whereby over 90% of production is for
export outside of Slovakia.
MicroStep CNC cutting machines are equipped with
technological equipment of leading world manufacturers
– Hypertherm and Kjellberg plasma sources, Rofi n and
PRC laser sources, KMT and Böhler waterjet systems, Donaldson,
Kemper and TEKA fi lter units etc. All of MicroStep
machines have possibility of custom confi guration – customer
can choose the size of working area, number and
type of cutting heads, type of plasma or laser source,
fi lter unit, cutting table... As a manufacturer of not only

machine mechanics, but also of control system and CAM
software is MicroStep able to deliver special solutions
and customer specifi c applications with combinations of
several technologies on single machine. Most of standard
sheet metal cutting facilities can be enhanced by pipe and
profi le cutting units in a shaft along the cutting table and
by additional technological heads which allow e.g. bevel
cutting up to 50° with plasma, waterjet and oxyfuel, drilling
and tapping (with automatic tool exchange), marking
of materials by ink, zinc powder, plasma arc or punch,
automatic plate alignment by laser sensor with plate size
detection feature or scanning of shape of template with
CCD camera. Advanced control system with touch-screen
user interface allows to prepare cutting programs simultaneously
with cutting process, manage cutting plan in
zones, remotely monitor and manage machine through
web-based intranet applications, integrate machine into
PPS and database systems and to provide remote diagnostics
and maintenance via Internet.
