Sabre Hotel Display GuidelinesDue to regulations issued by the United States Department of Treasury’s Office ofForeign Assets Control (“OFAC”), some hotel properties may not be available throughSabre. For example, regarding Cuba, Sabre Holdings does not create and/or distributeCuban hotel properties through the SABRE system at this time. The restriction appliesfor the Sabre GDS and all Sabre Holdings Companies, including Travelocity,WorldChoice Travel, GetThere, Travelocity Business and any other distribution sites.More information is available directly through OFAC.The following document details the current display parameters that govern the Sabre system hotel shoppingdisplay. It provides an explanation of how Sabre builds the HOT display when properties are returned to thetravel agent in response to specific shopping entries. The Sabre hotel system enables a user to search, shop, book, modify and cancel a hotel reservation. The basecriteria required for all searches are the destination, the dates of check in and check out and the number ofpeople in the party..From time to time, Sabre may conduct tests and engage in modifications of the Sabre system that temporarilymodify the hotel display from what is outlined below. Sabre Travel Network performs these tests to ensure theSabre system is meeting the needs of various customer groups. The tests may include, but are not limited to,EDIFACT processing, messaging efficiency, hotel shopping, hotel booking, and marketing tools.Search requests are categorized into two typesA qualified search request: The user is able to qualify the search using a number of qualifiers in addition tobase search criteria. Primary qualifiers include rate type, proximity to a point of interest or town center, hotelchain code and property name and number. Typically over 60% of hotel searches fall are qualified and over70% of the time the user is able to book from the first display. The system may return either a random display,or a preferenced display which is possible when the traveler demonstrates certain characteristics. An open search request: The user does not qualify the search over the base criteria. In this case the systemmay return a random display, or a preferenced display, which is possible when the traveler demonstratescertain characteristics.Display Management PrinciplesSabre will publish system display parameters to participating hotel suppliers in an open and timely fashion.Sabre will provide 30 days advance notification of system display parameter changes, these changes will becommunicated via a display parameter table on hoteleservices.sabre.com.Sabre may control the order of hotels shown on the display (preference the display) according to the followingcriteria:Hotels may purchase a position as one of the first hotels shown in a response (e.g., Spotlightprogram);Whether the listed property offers Sabre customers pricing equivalent to or less than other distributionchannels (e.g., Rate Assured Program); The overall value to Sabre of each listed hotel. Factors that influence this value may include (but arenot limited to) the sum of all services purchased by that hotel from Sabre Holdings, a request from aSabre travel agency or similar customer, or whether payment for bookings and or services attributableto that hotel have been paid to Sabre and its affiliates in a timely manner.Based upon the above criteria, and/or other factors, and at its sole discretion, Sabre may elect not todisplay a property, or may render a property unavailable for sale through Sabre by any means.
