Subsequently, joining the laboratories <strong>of</strong> flow cytology,immunohistochemistry, cytogenetics <strong>and</strong> molecular biology, he founded the centre<strong>of</strong> diagnostic immunopathology for tumours, addressed particularly to the study<strong>and</strong> diagnosis <strong>of</strong> neoplasms in the area <strong>of</strong> haematological oncology. The centre,which was included in the regional health plan for the three-year period 1990-1992, has become the regional centre <strong>of</strong> excellence. This facility has, over theyears, developed both in terms <strong>of</strong> numbers <strong>of</strong> staff - not only pay-rolled, butincluding, amongst others, students from the faculties <strong>of</strong> medicine <strong>and</strong> biologypreparing their undergraduate dissertations or on postgraduate internships, <strong>and</strong>in terms <strong>of</strong> the acquisition <strong>of</strong> the latest cutting-edge technologies.


Promotor <strong>of</strong> the “Comprehensive Cancer Center” foundation <strong>of</strong> Turin's MolinetteHospital, named COES (Subalpine Centre for Oncology <strong>and</strong> Haematology)within whichCERMS (Centre for Research in Experimental Medicine) operates.
