This group comprises all products acting on the alimentary tract <strong>and</strong><br />

metabolism which cannot be classified in the preceding groups. V03 -<br />

All other therapeutic products, should also be considered.<br />

Nutrients are classified in V06 - General nutrients.<br />

A16AA Amino acids <strong>and</strong> derivatives<br />

A16AB Enzymes<br />

Agents used in various metabolic deficiency states are classified here,<br />

when this is considered to be the main indication e.g. levocarnitine.<br />

Tryptophan <strong>and</strong> oxitriptan are classified in N06A.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong> of levocarnitine is based on treatment of primary<br />

carnitine deficiency.<br />

A16AX Various alimentary tract <strong>and</strong> metabolism products<br />

Tioctic acid is classified here.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong> <strong>for</strong> zinc acetate is expressed as the amount of zinc (Zn).<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong> <strong>for</strong> nitisinone is based on the treatment of children with a<br />

bodyweight of 20 kg.
