A14 ANABOLIC AGENTS FOR SYSTEMIC USE<br />

A14A ANABOLIC STEROIDS<br />

Anabolic steroids are subdivided in different 4th levels according to<br />

chemical structure.<br />

Anabolic steroids used exclusively in cancer therapy, see<br />

L - Antineoplastic <strong>and</strong> immunomodulating agents.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong>s are based on e.g. treatment of anemia.<br />

A14AA Androstan derivatives<br />

A14AB Estren derivatives<br />

A14B OTHER ANABOLIC AGENTS<br />

This group comprises all other anabolic agents which cannot be<br />

classified in the preceding groups.<br />

A15 APPETITE STIMULANTS<br />

This group comprises preparations only used as appetite stimulants.<br />

A number of drugs with other main actions may have appetite<br />

stimulating properties.<br />

Cyproheptadine, also used as an appetite stimulant in children, is<br />

classified in R06AX. Pizotifen is classified in N02CX.<br />

No <strong>DDD</strong>s are established in this group.<br />
