The <strong>DDD</strong>s <strong>for</strong> the various magnesium salts are equivalent to an<br />

assumed daily requirement of 300 mg Mg (oral dose). The <strong>DDD</strong><br />

<strong>for</strong> some of the oral <strong>for</strong>mulations are higher than the parenteral<br />

<strong>for</strong>mulations due to lower bioavailability.<br />

This group comprises preparations used e.g. in the treatment of<br />

osteoporosis. Fluoride used in caries prophylaxis, see A01AA - Caries<br />

prophylatic agents.<br />

Bisphosphonates are classified in M05B.<br />

Calcitonin is classified in H05BA.<br />

Calcium preparations are classified in A12A.<br />

Combinations with calcium are classified here.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong> is based on treatment of osteoporosis.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong>s are based on treatment of selenium deficiency <strong>and</strong> is<br />

expressed as amount of selenium (Se).<br />

This group comprises preparations used as tonics etc., if preparations do<br />

not fill the requirements to be classified as iron preparations, vitamin<br />

preparations etc.<br />

All mixtures classified in this group are given a fixed <strong>DDD</strong><br />

(30 ml = 6 UD).
