R03DA Xanthines<br />

A number of preparations containing e.g. theophylline are classified in<br />

this group even if they do not have asthma as an indication.<br />

Combinations of xanthines <strong>and</strong> other agents (except adrenergics, see<br />

R03DB - Xanthines <strong>and</strong> adrenergics) are classified at separate 5th levels<br />

using the corresponding 50-series (e.g. mucolytics).<br />

R03DB Xanthines <strong>and</strong> adrenergics<br />

All combinations of xanthines <strong>and</strong> adrenergics are classified in this<br />

group.<br />

R03DC Leukotriene receptor antagonists<br />

R03DX Other systemic drugs <strong>for</strong> obstructive airway diseases<br />

This group comprises preparations, which cannot be classified in the<br />

preceding groups.<br />

R05 COUGH AND COLD PREPARATIONS<br />

This group comprises a large number of preparations, most of which are<br />

combined preparations.<br />

Cold preparations containing therapeutic levels of antiinfectives should<br />

be classified in <strong>ATC</strong> group J - Antiinfectives <strong>for</strong> systemic use.<br />

Cold preparations with therapeutic levels of analgesics/antiinflammatory<br />

agents should be classified in the respective N02/M01<br />

groups, at separate 5th levels by using the 50-series.<br />

Cold preparations with both antiinfectives <strong>and</strong> analgesics should be<br />

classified in <strong>ATC</strong> group J - Antiinfectives <strong>for</strong> systemic use.<br />

Cold preparations with minimal amounts of antiinfectives or analgesics<br />

are classified in R05X - Other cold combination preparations.<br />
