H04A GLYCOGENOLYTIC HORMONES<br />

H04AA Glycogenolytic hormones<br />

The pancreas glycogenolytic hormone glucagon is classified in this<br />

group.<br />

Diazoxide, which is also used <strong>for</strong> treatment of hypoglycemia, is<br />

classified in C02DA01 <strong>and</strong> V03AH01.<br />

Insulins are classified in A10A.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong> of glucagon is based on single dose treatment of<br />

hypoglycemia.<br />

H05 CALCIUM HOMEOSTASIS<br />

Drugs acting on calcium homeostasis are classified in this group.<br />

Vitamin-D preparations, see A11CC.<br />

H05A PARATHYROID HORMONES AND ANALOGUES<br />

H05AA Parathyroid hormones <strong>and</strong> analogues<br />

Extracts from parathyroid gl<strong>and</strong>s are classified in this group.<br />

H05BA Calcitonin preparations<br />

Calcitonin, natural <strong>and</strong> synthetic, is classified in this group. Other drugs<br />

<strong>for</strong> treatment of hypercalcemia, see M05B.<br />

The <strong>DDD</strong>s of the calcitonins are based on the treatment of Paget's<br />

disease.<br />
