Edwards Schoolof Medicine is expanding and movedon May 15 to the East Hills ProfessionalCenter.Located at 5187 U.S. Route 60 East, justeast of the 29th Street Exit of Interstate 64(Exit 15), the new 10,000-square-foot stateof-the-artfacility will include a laser centerand a surgical suite.University Eye Surgeons serves patientsthroughout southern West Virginia. Its specialservices include using premium intraocularlenses for cataract surgery. These lensescorrect astigmatism and both distance andnear vision, and they can eliminate the needfor glasses after cataract surgery. The groupalso has the only Pentacam corneal scannerin southern West Virginia. The Pentacamuses a rotating camera to create a 3-D imageof the cornea so that surgeons have the mostprecise details available when performingcataract or refractive surgery.Dr. Parveen Nagra, a fellowship-trainedcorneal specialist who was trained at WillsEye Hospital in Philadelphia, will be joiningthe staff in June. Her areas of focus willbe corneal transplants, external disease,cataract and refractive surgery.
