Grand Master Dennis V. Siewert
Honored at Unity Reception
By Rich Rygh
Brethren and their ladies came
together at the Leathem Smith
Resort in Sturgeon Bay on June
16, to honor Grand Master Dennis
V. Siewert.
This special event was a Masonic
Unity Reception sponsored by
the Masons of Northeast Wisconsin
and the Peninsula Shrine Club
and organized by Bro. Allen
Kohn.
Bagpipers Keith Bagley and
Richard Kohn of BEJA Shrine
and drummer David Moe, Tripoli
Shrine lead the entrance of the
Grand Master. BEJA Potentate
David Oshefsky conducted Grand
Master Dennis V. Siewert under
an arch of steel formed by the officers
of the York Rite Grand
Commandery.
The flag was presented by the
BEJA Shrine Vets of Valor & Patriots.
Grand Secretary Michael A. De-
Wolf, PGM, was the emcee for
the evening, promising not to tell
too many stories about the Grand
Master if the Grand Master returned
the favor.
Past York Rite Grand Commander
Ray Mielke presented the
Grand Master with a bib for when
he travels around the state attending
all the banquets. The bib contained
four emblems, the Blue
Lodge, Chapter, Council and the
Knights Templar emblem over the
heart.
After dinner entertainment was
provided by a country gospel
band, Parks Phillips & Company.
The Grand Master thanked
everyone for being with him for
the evening. He introduced his
wife Nancy and his family. He
thanked the Peninsula Shrine Club
Lodge No. 108
We just dedicated our new Masonic
Center in Hustisford.
We inherited a beautiful Lowery
church organ with the building.
As a result, we have a small
Hammond spinet organ located in
our old lodge building in Neosho.
We received that organ as a gift
from West Bend Lodge No. 138.
It's our intention to "regift" that
organ to another Wisconsin lodge
(you know, keep it in the family).
There seems to be interest from
several lodges nearby, I've found
interest from Waupun, Prairie
View, Manawa and recently from
the Dodge County Lodge in
Beaver Dam.
So here's the deal. Any lodge
that has a genuine interest in receiving
this Hammond Spinet
Organ should send an official request
to me. Since it's an electronic
organ, the request should
be sent electronically to a special
e-mail address: macwhosit@gmail
.com with a subject "Great Organ
Caper”. Provide your lodge name
and number and a contact person
(with an email address).
Email your lodge news to
wmjeditor@wisc-freemasonry.org.
Grand Master Dennis V. Siewert
thanks everyone for attending.
and more especially Bro. Allen
Kohn, his wife Bonnie and Bro.
Jay Herbst for all the work they
did to organize the event. He also
thanked the Scottish Rite and
York Rite.
The Grand Master introduced
Bro. Jamison Kifer, State Master
Councilor of DeMolay and a Master
Mason. He is also the youngest
Knights Templar in the United
States. Bro. Keifer thanked all
those present who actively support
the youth groups and congratulated
the Grand Master and
wished him the best on behalf of
the members of DeMolay in Wisconsin.
Grand Secretary DeWolf left
everyone with one thought,
“When you were born you cried
and the world rejoiced; live your
life so that when you die the world
cries and you rejoice.”
Neosho Mayville Horicon Lodge
No. 108 – Great Organ Caper
Each lodge will have one chance
in a lottery type drawing to be
held at our annual lodge picnic on
Aug. 18, at 1:30 p.m. at Harnischeger
Park, West of Ashippun.
You do not need to be
present to win, but out Master
would really like to have you join
us at that picnic.
If your lodge is the winner, you'll
have to arrange to move the
organ. However, one of our lodge
Brothers (Emil Lazich) has offered
to assist in this move, he's in the
moving business (pianos).
Further information:
Suggested selection method: assign
each interested lodge a number
from 1 to 6, and roll a single
dice.
I think that the Hammond is a
"Composer" series Model 142.
There was a model "N" on it but
reviewing a dialog on a Hammond
Q & A website revealed that the
"N" doesn't fit. It is slightly
wounded, it has one cracked leg.
There's a possibility that one additional
spinet electronic organ (a
small Lowery) may also be available
in this caper. It's the one that
was in our lodge before the Hammond.
So there may actually be two
lodge organs available.
If we can have a traveling gavel,
why not a traveling organ?
