In addition to traditional classroom sections that meet throughouta 16-week semester, we offer classes in alternative formats including:DEVELOPMENTAL CLASSESDevelopmental classes are classes numbered below the 100 level.They provide students with the knowledge and skills required forcollege-level work in reading, English, and math. Placement testsdetermine which developmental classes may be most helpful.Although they do not count toward an associate degree, they dopromote student success and achievement.HONORS CLASSESThe CGCC Honors Program offers a unique and challengingeducational opportunity for gifted and talented students.HYBRID CLASSESClasses offered in a Hybrid format have a portion of the classtaught face-to-face in a traditional classroom setting, while therest of the class takes place online. The mixed format offers thebest of both worlds: an effective combination of face-to-faceclassroom meetings and the opportunity to work independently.LATE-START CLASSESJump in anytime! No more waiting until a new semester beginsto start college. Late-Start classes provide a great opportunity tobegin classes after a semester begins.LEARNING COMMUNITIESLearning communities integrate two or more courses in waysthat meaningfully connect the content of each course. The purpose of the Honors Program is to fostergreater depth of thought in reading, writing, and discussion with faculty andguest lecturers who will better prepare honors students to complete degrees orto begin their careers. A variety of academic scholarships and fee waivers areavailable to eligible Honors Program students.HOUSING 480.727.1700Williams Campus Housing and Residential Life is managed by ASU Housing,and provides on-campus housing for CGCC and ASU students and staff.Campus Living Villages oversees the management and leasing of 610 housesand eight residence halls, for a combined total of over 1000 units. TheWilliams Campus Housing Office is located in the north end of the Union“Annex,” Building 330. While theemphasis is on providing writing, mathematics, and science support, servicesare available for a wide range of courses.
